Glass City Half Marathon!

April 26, 2009 – 5:37 pm

Today I finished my first half marathon (13.1 miles). Without a doubt it was one of the most grueling, but most rewarding experiences I ever been apart of. My goal was to finish at a modest time of 2:45:00 and my official ‘chip time’ was 2:44:32! Woot!

I owe that to a good friend of mine Jason Dittus who met me at the last mile and ran with me! I was struggling bad and his encouragement was HUGE!! Thanks man!!

Yes the clock says ‘2:55:00′ but that doesn’t reflect your personal time which is clocked by a chip on your shoe from when you leave the start to when you hit the finish.

Thanks to my family and friends who were there to cheer me on! love you guys!

For anyone interested in a play by play during each mile, go ahead and check it out after the jump. Warning. May cause boredom

…i’ve gone ‘radio silent’

April 23, 2009 – 11:37 pm

April has been and will continue to be one of the busiest months in a long time, which is the reason for my lack of posting. April has also been just flat out incredible.

-8 amazing Easter services at cedarcreek.tv

-the cedarcreek toledo campus 1 year anniversary celebration (more pictures here thanks to Josh)

-I was asked to guest-blog. Jared Kaelber, Nate Manuel and myself took the opportunity to be idiots…

to top it off my wife bought us some AMAZING tickets for the following concert tomorrow…

It’s been a great month, but it ain’t over yet! More on that on Sunday night. For now, I go back to my ‘radio silence.’

over and easy…that’s not right…

Guest blog: Tam from inprogress

April 9, 2009 – 12:36 am

So today I am swapping posts with Tam over at inprogress. I know tam and her husband brent through a mutual friend Josh. They are the ‘real deal’ when it comes to incredibly inspiring stories of honest relationships (marriage or otherwise) and real worship.

…I’ll shut up now so you can read : )

**********************************************************************************

hi! my name is tam from inprogress. each thursday i swap blog posts with another blogger. jason called shot gun right out of the gates, so… i made sure he didnt get the first swap. thats the mean mom in me.

thanks jason for letting me spew mindless things here!

ive always thought it was funny that jason calls himself the worst blogger. im not sure what would define the “worst” of us bloggers, but i sure wouldnt say jason is the worst! maybe…3rd or 4th, but definitely not the worst. i kid!

anyway…jason, i dont know how long youve been blogging, but ive been at it for only a year and a half now and ive noticed a lot of changes in the blogworld. namely…fallen stats. have you all noticed this?

ive talked to several of my friends who have found the same thing with their blogs. there seems to be no rhyme (i had to pause to remember how to spell rhyme. OH! paused again!) or reason to it. none that we know of at least.

do you all have any ideas? is it just getting old? do we suck? maybe its twitter? perhaps twitter is taking over?

if you had to stop blogging or twittering, which would you drop? why?

for those of you who dont twitter (shame on you) what one online source of creative communication would you stick with? and why that one?

Come check us out…
