Brayden Jay Smithers

December 1, 2008 – 4:49 pm

There is absolutely no easy way to write this post.

In follow up to the last post, yes our baby is a boy, but this past week we lost our son.

We could only give our son a name (Brayden)  and a little outfit, but in the few hours we had to spend with him he gave us so much more. More than I could ever write or convey.

Thanks to everyone who has dropped a note or a prayer for us in the past week.

We love you all!

Jason & Jess

  2. I think you gave your son a beautiful name! And I am overwhelmed with the amount of support you have received over the past several weeks. It seems like in the midst of a loss like this, you are still extremely blessed! Stick in there — I’m thinking about you guys.

  4. I was trying to leave you alone until I heard something - I wasn’t sure you wanted more people e-mailing you. You have been in my prayers all the time. Take care and know that you are in so many peoples prayers right now. Patty

I am so sorry for your loss. You and your wife are in my families prayers tonight.

  8. What a beautiful name! You probably gave him more love in the short time you had to last a lifetime. I don’t know what more to say; I’m so sorry for your loss and you’re both in my prayers.

  10. I do not know you personally, however I enjoy your music at CC each week. My husband Rodney does video and I think you know him. I just wanted to tell you our thoughts and prayers are with you and Jess. What a precious gift you were given, if only for a moment. Take care and God bless.

  11. Jason and Jess,

Julie said she read your blog and gave me the address. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families during this difficult time. Take comfort from those friends and family around you. Treasure even the little amount of time you had to share with Brayden Jay. He knows how much you loved him.

  14. My family and I do not know you personally but we attend Cedar Creek Church. We have missed the two of you week after week making your “beautiful music together”. Even though your time was short with your little blessing, Brayden, cherish the memories. You are both in our thoughts and prayers.

  16. Hey Jason -
I had suspected something was up and heard through the grapevine what happened. I cannot express how deeply sorry I feel for you and Jess. I have been praying and will continue to pray for you guys as you work through this.

  17. Hey J,

Sorry to hear about this man. I have another buddy that lost his child a couple weeks ago. If we only we understood God’s plans… faith would not be necessary. So it’s probably a good thing we don’t know or see what he does. You’re in my prayers man. Take it easy.
